Struggling Learners: Support is Critical
Classroom experiences are often insufficient for students who struggle to learn and need more time and focused strategies to maintain an average pace. With higher educational standards, the importance of providing supports for struggling learners is critical.
Through embedded classroom mentoring, JBHM Education Group struggling learner specialists guide teachers in analyzing the links between instruction and student performance. Teachers use test scores and other data to identify learning needs and plan targeted strategies to address and reduce learning barriers, close knowledge gaps, and accelerate achievement for all students, including students with disabilities. Teachers see the positive results of making informed instructional decisions, collaborating on problem-solving, and implementing research-based interventions and best practices, including differentiated and scaffolded instruction.
The JBHM Education Group Struggling Learners Initiative provides an educational framework for using IDEA Early Intervening Service Funds and implementing a research-based Response to Intervention process.
